E-Labs

Configuring a Router

This E-Lab walks through a complete setup of a new set of routers. You will also be enabling RIP and adding networks to the RIP Protocol. You will be setting up both FastEthernet and Serial connections with IP Addresses, creating static routes between networks, and checking connectivity to all network equipment. Have Fun!!

Configuring Access Lists

3.2.3 Configuring Interface Descriptions

This lab is to teach students how to enter interface descriptions to each interface. The descriptions can be used to show what the connection to that specific interface is being used for.

example: If you had a serial connection between Honolulu and Los Angeles, you could enter - "description Honolulu" on the Los Angeles router.

Any text you put in after the command description will be the description for that interface.
